Field notes
Jialakang Glacier. The smallest of the three named records: 1.45 km² at the 2000 survey, held between 5,491 m and 6,310 m, with 2,482 m of measured length. Small glaciers answer warming first and fastest; the modelled series gives 1.52 km² in 1990 and 1.31 km² in 2020, provisional until the decadal extents are on file. When the inventory lands, records of this size are where the corrections will be largest. The register keeps the number, and keeps the caveat beside it.
