Field notes
Rikha Samba Glacier. One of three named records in a register of 447. 6.50 km² at the 2000 survey, lying high in the Hidden Valley between 5,380 m and 6,513 m, with 5,805 m of measured length. Rikha Samba is among the most-studied glaciers in Nepali glaciology; much of what is known about ice loss in this range was learned here. The modelled series gives 6.84 km² in 1990 and 5.88 km² in 2020 — figures the field campaigns will correct, in the direction they always correct.
